There is so much history at Mallard Crossing at St. Matthews! The clubhouse was built between 1810 & 1820. The home was only occupied by 2 local families – the Browns & the Monohans. Mallard Crossing at St. Matthews was developed into an apartment community in the mid 1980’s and consists of 600 generously sized studio, 1, 2 & 3 bedroom apartment homes.
The property sits on approximately 40 acres with mature trees, landscaping and walking paths for the residents to enjoy. In October 2021 Stoneweg purchased the property and PMR took over management. Renovations have been ongoing since the purchase which include new countertops, stainless appliances, vinyl plank flooring and light fixtures, along with updated cabinetry and hardware.
The amenity areas will also be getting a face lift! A new pet grooming room, large work out area with cardio and weight stations and pool area updates are some of the improvements we are most excited about!

This is Karen McClure’s 2nd time managing the beautiful property in the heart of St. Matthews. She previously managed the property for 6 years until 2013. Karen loves property management and has been involved in the Louisville market for over 30 years. Her background includes multi-site management, new construction lease-up and renovations. Karen loves history and feels like she returned home when she returned to Mallard Crossing in October of last year.
Karen’s wonderful team of 14 has a combined experience of over 30 years in the multifamily industry. Team members have worked on site anywhere from 4 to over 14 years. The combined knowledge and ideas make the team the right group to take on the improvements that are slated for the property. With an office team of 7, maintenance team of 6 and grounds team of 2, they provide outstanding customer service to their valued residents. They can’t wait for residents, both current and future, to come home to all that Mallard Crossing has to offer now and in the future!
